How to grow St Augustine under my tree?

If you have large trees, in your landscape and grass is dying around the trunk, DO NOT plant St. Augustine, it will not survive. Use some sort of ground cover instead.  St Augustine needs 5 to 7 hours of direct sunlight. It will not survive in heavily shaded areas. Stop wasting your money and energy. Find a landscape material that works well in full shade.
